The colour of the clay is natural. By polishing it with a hard stone the clay becomes watertight and gets a unique shine without any glaze. The pieces are then showered in liquid beeswax to add an extra watertight layer.
This proces prevents changing the taste of your food and the ceramic doesn't get hot with boiling water.
